Drivers are encouraged to reduce their speeds in work zones, maintain safe following distances, watch for workers and construction equipment, and obey all posted signs and temporary traffic signals. Overnight construction can also create unexpected lane restrictions and slowdowns for motorists traveling through Middle Tennessee.

TDOT reminds motorists that schedules can change because of weather conditions, equipment availability, or other unforeseen circumstances. Drivers should check current roadway conditions before beginning their trips and remain alert for updated traffic information.

Motorists are urged to slow down, stay alert, and give highway workers the space they need to safely complete their work.
