Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay men’s tennis will look to finish strong with a 1:30pm, Friday match against Jacksonville State.
The Govs hope to continue a tear through Ohio Valley Conference play where they have won four-straight matches. So far, Austin Peay’s only blemish has come at league-leader Eastern Kentucky, where the Govs lost a 5-2 match. With only the Gamecocks left for the Austin Peay, head coach Malik Tabet knows anything can happen during conference play.

Sophomores Henrique Norbiato and Sean Bailey lead the Govs young team. Along with sophomore John Storie, who plays at No. 6 singles, Austin Peay has three freshmen that comprises the lineup – Jasmin Ademovic, Remi Calleja and Joao Pagan. With such a young team, consistent singles play has been a focal point.
Jacksonville State’s men bring a two-match losing streak to Clarksville, falling 4-3 to Mercer and 6-1 at Eastern Kentucky. The Gamecocks have relied on Brian Kenyon at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, but also have strong representation at No. 6 singles where they have a .526 win-percentage.
