Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay women’s basketball team continues its five-game homestand when it hosts the Division II Trevecca Trojans in a 7:00pm, Monday contest at the Dunn Center.
The Lady Govs saw their home losing streak reach nine games with a 79-69 loss to Arkansas State in the 2013 home opener, Friday. Austin Peay stands 1-2 after the season’s opening seven days, with both losses coming to Sun Belt Conference opposition.Sophomore Tiasha Gray is Austin Peay’s scoring leader, averaging 18.3 points per game and has reached double-digits in each of the first three games.
Head coach Carrie Daniels is in her eighth season with a young squad dominated by sophomores and freshmen. The Lady Govs starting lineup has been composed of a senior, junior and three sophomores in the season’s first three games with four freshman seeing significant action off the bench.

APSU will play a non-Division I opponent for the second consecutive season, both the result of a late schedule change – it defeated St. Catherine by an 84-62 score last season.
Austin Peay has opened the 2013-14 season by scoring 69 or more points in each of its first three games, something it last accomplished in the 2010-11 season. Friday’s game will be the final outing in a three-game, six-day stretch for APSU.
The Lady Govs current five-game homestand will be its longest since the 2005-06 season when it had a six-game homestand. Austin Peay is a young squad in 2013-14 with five sophomore and five freshman dominating the 13-woman roster.
The Lady Govs’ seven returnees accounted for only 808 of team’s 1700 points scored (47.5 percent). Austin Peay’s 2013-14 schedule features 11 games against nine teams that reached the 2012 postseason, including national runner-up Louisville.

A familiar face roams the Trevecca sideline – head coach Gary Van Atta was the head coach at UT Martin from 1996-2004 where he led the Skyhawks to the 1999 OVC regular-season title.
