Clarksville Police Detectives work around the clock to Solve Two Robberies and Home Invasion after Patrol Officers Locate Suspects

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Four men, Gregory Elliot, Willie Collins, Timothy Ogburn and Lawrence Gillen were involved in a plan to forcefully take money from a Nottingham Drive man rumored to have a large sum of money as well as drugs.

They moved forward with their plan and approached the residence on September 5th, a little before 2:00am.

They spotted and approached a 30 year old man and a 29 year old woman who were sitting inside of a car outside of the house. A confrontation ensued resulting in the man being struck on the head several times with a handgun and the woman fleeing into the house and locking herself in a bedroom.

Two men, Lawrence Gillen and Timonthy Ogburn followed her inside and attempted to break down the bedroom door. Lawrence Gillen was carrying a rifle and kicked the door several times waking up a man in the bedroom next door. He opened the door, saw Gillen with the rifle, slammed the door shut, and 911 was called.

Gillen started kicking the man’s door until it came off its hinges, at which time, the man fought with the man over the gun. During the struggle two rounds were discharged, but the man was able to wrestle the gun away from Gillen. Gillen and Ogburn fled from the house.

In the meantime, Elliot and Collins who were guarding the 30 year old man outside, heard the shots fired inside of the house and ran. All four men entered a getaway vehicle and fled from the scene.

The getaway vehicle was followed by the 30 year old and another man who had come by the residence. As the two men followed the suspect vehicle, they kept Police apprised of their location.

As the men were following the getaway vehicle on Fort Campbell Boulevard, Gillen and Ogburn who were in the rear passenger seats, fired rounds in the air and at the pursuing vehicle. The men eventually lost track of the getaway vehicle.

Around 2:15am, Officer Lukasz Balazy located the vehicle and with the assistance of other patrol officers stopped the vehicle in the area of Tiny Town Road and Needmore Road. The suspects were taken to the detective division to be interviewed.

As Detectives Andy Hurst, Eric Ewing, and Kevin Rushing pursued the investigation into the home invasion, they also found a link to two robberies which occurred on September 3rd between midnight and 1:00am. Two men had robbed two women in the area of Mr C. Drive and two men in the area of 1471 Tiny Town Road.

Through their investigation, Detectives Ewing and Rush determined Lawrence Gillen, who had been involved in the home invasion, and another man Devain Peterson were responsible for both robberies.

On September 6th, 2012, around 1:00am, all five men were transported to Montgomery County Jail and booked.

All five men have previous criminal histories, some extensive, involving an assortment of crimes.

Timothy Elijah Ogburn is on Parole for Aggravated Robbery. Willie Dallas Collins was out on bond for Domestic Assault.
