Clarksville, TN – Take a break from the Roxy Regional Theatre’s full-size mainstage productions (such as “The Fantasticks”, closing Saturday) and join us upstairs in theotherspace this Wednesday, February 26th at 7:00pm as we continue our “Roxy Reads” series with a reading of Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting For Godot”.
In this “tragicomedy in two acts,” two wandering tramps, Vladimir and Estragon, wait by a lonely tree, to meet up with Mr. Godot, an enigmatic figure in a world where time, place and memory are blurred and meaning is where you find it.
The tramps hope that Godot will change their lives for the better.
Instead, two eccentric travelers arrive, one man on the end of the other’s rope. The results are both funny and dangerous in this existential masterpiece, read by Ryan Bowie, Matthew Combs and Ian Alexander Erbe.
Stick around after the reading for a talk back with our actors, when we will discuss your thoughts, impressions and analyses of the selected work, and then our professional company will weigh in with their opinions to create a dialogue about the piece.
Roxy Reads: “Waiting For Godot” is presented in theotherspace, the 50-seat black-box theatre located upstairs at the Roxy Regional Theatre. Tickets are $15.00 and may be purchased online via the below button, by phone at 931.645.7699, or at the theatre during regular box office hours (9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday, and one hour prior to curtain).
