Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department hosted Clarksville’s third annual Clarksville BBQ Bash on Saturday, October 19th, 2019 at Liberty Park.
The BBQ Bash included a full barbecue competition, people’s choice, cornhole tournament, artisan vendors and kids activities.
Barbeque Competition: Nineteen competitors from near and far met on the banks of the Cumberland River this weekend to see who had the best barbeque. A team of judges evaluated barbeque in three categories (pork, chicken, ribs) based on the following criteria: taste, appearance, and texture.
Trophies and a total of $5,000 were awarded to the following:
Grand Champion ($1000): The Big Orange Smokers

1st Place ($650.00): The Big Orange Smokers
2nd Place ($400.00): Smokin in the Country
3rd Place ($250.00): C3Cookers
Ribs
1st Place ($650.00): Big B’s BBQ
2nd Place ($400.00): RT Que
3rd Place ($250.00): The Big Orange Smokers
Pork
1st Place ($650.00): The Big Orange Smokers
2nd Place ($400.00): Big B’s BBQ
3rd Place ($250.00): Piggy Smalls and the Spice Boys
Queener Law People’s Choice — BBQ Bash attendees were invited to visit the Queener Law People’s Choice tent to sample barbecue for free from participating teams and vote for their favorite. There were two winners, both with the same amount of votes, Smoke’m If U Got’m and Old Hogs BBQ. Each team won $50.00.
Appleton Harley Davidson ACL Cornhole Tournament — Seventeen teams competed not only for bragging rights and a trophy, but money was awarded to the first, second, and third-place teams.
First Place ($350.00): Miguel Hernandez and Martina Belt
Second Place ($150.00): Marcus Wybrew and Torry Bennight
Third Place ($50.00): Hole Seekers (Sean and Stacy O’Bryan)
The Clarksville BBQ Bash was presented by Clarksville Parks and Recreation and sponsored by Coors Lite, Hilltop Supermarket, Queener Law, Appleton’s Harley-Davidson, Bojangles, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville, Sunbelt Rentals, Gerald Printing, Blocker Farms, Real Life Church, Miggy Boards, Austin Peay State University and Liberty Park Grill.
