Oxford, AL – Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team sophomore outfielder Bailey Shorter was named to the All-OVC Tournament Team after hitting a team-high .375 his past week at the Ohio Valley Conference Softball Championship Tournament, as announced by the league office Saturday afternoon.
Shorter, a native of Evansville, IN, also led the team with a .583 on-base percentage, reaching base seven times in her 12 plate appearances during the tournament – including three hits and four walks.
She also led the Govs with three runs scored during OVC Championship play.
Shorter’s selection to the All-OVC Tournament Team is the sixth time a Gov has been selected to the post-season tournament team, joining Andrea Miller and Angela Thompson (1995), Natasha Anderson (2007) and Morgan Rackel and Carly Mattson in 2018.
Joining Shorter on the 2019 All-OVC Tournament Team are: Sierra Gilmore, Murray State; Chelsea Thomas, Belmont; Sammi Miller and Murphy McRoberts, Eastern Kentucky; Anna Chisolm, Taylor Beshears and Faith Sims, Jacksonville State; Rachel Anderson, Haley Thogmartin, Addison Barnouski, and tournament MVP Mykaela Arellanes, Southeast Missouri.
