Austin Peay State University guard Keisha Gregory named to First Team All-OVC

APSU Women's BasketballBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) senior guard Keisha Gregory has been named First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference, the league announced Tuesday.

Gregory was a catalyst for the Governors offense, leading the team in points scored (395), points per game (13.6), free throws made (126) and attempted (142), as well as assists (83). She remained a stalwart in the lineup, starting all 29 games and leading the Govs in minutes (885) and minutes per game (30.5).

The Johnson City, Tennessee native was nearly automatic from the free throw line, leading the OVC and ranking 17th nationally in free throw percentage, hitting 88.7 percent from the charity stripe. She ranked ninth in the conference in points per game and 14th in assists per game (2.9).

“Keisha has had a great season on the court and as a leader by example,” head coach David Midlick said. “She has battled injuries and had multiple surgeries over her career.

“She lost her mother this season and has continued to be solid as a rock for this team. I am the lucky one to have been able to coach her.”

In her Austin Peay career, Gregory ranks first in free throw percentage (.883), eighth in three-point field goal percentage (.352), 12th in three-point field goals made (117), 16th in free throws made (227), 16th in rebounds (328), 17th in assists (211) and 23rd in points scored (896).

It is the first all-conference honor of Gregory’s career, and it is the fifth straight season a Gov has been named to the first-team, joining Tiasha Gray (2014-15, 2015-16), Tearra Banks (2016-17) and Brianne Alexander (2017-18).

Gregory helped lead the Govs to a 10-8 record in OVC play and a fifth seed in the conference tournament. They face off against Tennessee Tech in a 1:00pm, Thursday, March 7th contest at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
