Clarksville Police Department
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Police have charged a man that has been using two different victims’ debit/credit cards at several locations around Clarksville.
One victim had their purse stolen, with multiple debit/credit cards inside, from an unlocked vehicle, on December 6th around 10:30am.
The other victim had lost or had their wallet stolen on December 5th.
Both victims had their cards fraudulently used at several locations around Clarksville; one of the transactions took place within 20 minutes after the card had been stolen.
Detectives located video surveillance of a suspect, later identified as Bobby Webb, attempting to use one of the cards at a business to purchase merchandise. On December 11th, Bobby Webb was spotted by detectives as he was walking down Providence Boulevard.
Bobby Daniel Webb, 52 was interviewed and booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with several counts of identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit card with a bond of $301,000. The investigation continues and additional charges are pending and expected to reach a total of 40 felony charges of identity theft and fraudulent use of credit card. There was over a $1,000 in fraudulent debit/credit card charges.
There are leads being followed to identify another suspect.
