Titans Return Home Following Monday Night Road Win

Tennessee TitansThe Titans have not played a home game since October 14th, and after Sunday they will not play again at Nissan Stadium until December 2nd, the first of four home contests in the season’s final five weeks.

The Titans will be challenged with a short week to prepare for the AFC East-leading Patriots after appearing on Monday night in Dallas last week. Marcus Mariota passed for two touchdowns and rushed for another to lead the team to a 28-14 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

Mariota was an efficient 21-of-29 passing for 240 yards with no interceptions and a season-best passer rating of 119.9. He tossed an 18-yard touchdown to running back Dion Lewis and a seven-yard touchdown to tight end Jonnu Smith.

Mariota was particularly effective on third down, completing six of seven passes for 98 yards and six first downs.

He helped the Titans convert on 11 of their 14 third down attempts. Their 78.6 percent success rate on third down was the franchise’s best mark since November 26th, 1995 (81.8 percent against Denver) and the highest for an NFL team in 2018.

The Titans defense forced two turnovers and totaled five sacks while pitching a second-half shutout against the Dallas Cowboys. Safety Kevin Byard recorded his second interception of the season, this time in the end zone to avert what could have been an early two-touchdown lead for the Cowboys.

Linebackers Jayon Brown (forced fumble) and Wesley Woodyard (fumble recovery) combined on the second takeaway of the night.
