Clarksville Association of REALTORSClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Association of Realtors® is releasing endorsements for local candidates.

After recently hosting a political debate and individual candidate conversations, the Clarksville Association of Realtors® (CAR) is endorsing the following candidates for the upcoming November 6th, 2018 State and General election.

Tommy Vallejos for TN House of Representatives – District 67
Curtis Johnson for TN House of Representatives – District 68
Jay Reedy for TN House of Representatives – District 74
Richard Garrett for Clarksville City Council – Ward 1
DeMone Chestnut for Clarksville City Council – Ward 6
Travis Holleman for Clarksville City Council – Ward 7
Stacey Streetman for Clarksville City Council – Ward 10

“Of all of the well qualified candidates in these races, we feel that these candidates will champion homeowners rights, and advocate for important economic measures that will increase the value of homes and properties, such as helping expand Montgomery County’s access to rural broadband,” said Charles Pecka, 2018 CAR President.

“While there are many qualified candidates running for office, our Governmental Affairs Committee, and the Board of Directors, believe that the candidates we have endorsed will best serve the needs of current and future homeowners of Clarksville and Montgomery County,” said Mark Kelly, 2018 CAR Governmental Affairs Committee Chair.

CAR has been supportive of significant issues affecting our community, including supporting the Two Rivers Company and their downtown revitalization efforts, and supporting the Clarksville/Montgomery County Charter Commission and Consolidated Government initiative. In 2019, CAR will advocate for the extension of broadband internet to underserved areas of our community, as well as bringing a focus to our local need for attainable workforce housing.
