Montgomery County, TN – This week Montgomery County added Gold Star Family parking signs at Civitan Park, Richellen Park, Rotary Park, War Memorial Park and Woodlawn Park as well as Veterans Plaza for Gold Star Family Members.
The idea for the signage came from a local citizen who shared it with Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett.
“Having the signs made and added was a no brainer for us, especially when we found out there are more than 300 Gold Star Families right here in Montgomery County,” said Durrett. “We are honored to make these parking spaces available to the families. It’s one simple way we can show that we care about them.”
Gold Star Families are immediate family members of the United States Armed Forces who have been killed in combat or in support of certain military activities.
