Clarksville, TN – It’s only fitting that on the day that millions of Christians celebrate their faith and the sacrifice that was made for them for all eternity, I share the story of Bald Knob Cross. You can read the history at the link I’ve provided.
I was made aware of this magnificent structure from one of my followers of this blog. Just another reason I LOVE the people I meet on this bike.
While I have ridden the Ozarks, in both Missouri and Arkansas, I’ve never been to Alto Pass Illinois, or this magnificent structure. Here’s the video.
The Christian Motorcycle Association sponsors their annual “Blessing of the Bikes” here each year, drawing thousands of bikers from all over the country. This years event is April 29th.

I can’t wait to get there.
Bald Knob Cross sits in rural Union County of Southern Illinois. Draped in the Illinois Ozark Mountains, the Cross stands at over 1,000 feet above sea level.
Bikers of all races, faiths, denominations, color and creed, converge on this beautiful part of the country to have their motorcycles “blessed” and to join their biker brethren for fellowship and of course, some great riding.
The weather is starting to turn in many parts of the country and we will ALL be taking to the road to enjoy this lifestyle, this passion, this journey we’re all on, and by the grace of God, we will all be wrapped in his protective armour as we travel.
I will have several stories about this event and this beautiful place in the coming days and weeks. For now, if you’ve never been, I would invite you to join us at the Cross, April 29th.
If you feel led to make a donation, or buy a t-shirt, you can do so at their website.
I also want to thank the Boars Nest Bed and Breakfast for hosting me during that weekend. The Blue Boar Restaurant and Bar, where I understand the food is fabulous, and to Black Diamond Harley Davidson, who’ve invited me to join their group as they ride to the cross.
I’ll have updates and more on my Facebook page.
God bless all of you, and ride safe my brother and sisters. Much love!
