APSU Women's GolfClarksville, TN – With the 2018 Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Golf Championship just around the corner, Austin Peay State University heads north to Miller Memorial Golf Course, site of this weekend’s Murray State Invitational.

A 54-hole event—weather permitting, as it rarely has for the Govs this spring—the Murray State Invitational will play at par-72 and 6,017 yards.

A stacked field awaits Austin Peay in this event, including a last look at OVC foes Belmont, Jacksonville State, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee State and the host Racers. Alabama State, Arkansas State, Bradley, Central Arkansas, Drury, Lipscomb, Southern Illinois and ULM round out the field.

Last season, the Govs finished seventh in the event, with Taylor Goodley (77-78-76—231) earning a top-10 finish. The Govs best finish in this event came in the 2010 edition, where Austin Peay was runner-up to Murray State.

The full squad will be on display this week, with all seven active squad members set to compete. Sophomore Meghann Stamps will make her first appearance at the No. 1 position, followed by juniors Reagan Greene, Ashton Goodley, Taylor Goodley and senior AnnaMichelle Moore.

Freshmen Riley Cooper and Andrea Presilla also will compete this week as individuals.

“We get to see quite a few OVC teams this week before we head to Muscle Shoals for the conference championship, which is exciting for us,” said interim head coach Amy McCollum. “We are really close to playing some great golf, so keeping the same mindset, determination and positive attitude that we’ve had the last couple weeks will be important to playing well this week.”

Friday action begins with an 8:30am (CT) shotgun start, followed by 36 holes, with 18 holes slated for Saturday. Live scoring will not be available for this event; however, a complete recap will be available after each day at LetsGoPeay.com, with updates @AustinPeayWGO periodically during play Friday.
