The Governors are searching for their season’s first victory after going 0-7 to begin the campaign. Last weekend, APSU was swept by Eastern Kentucky, 7-0, but showed improvements the following day despite a 4-2 loss at Morehead State. Doubles play was a strength for the Govs against the Eagles, earning the point as teams Almantas Ozelis/Aleh Drobysh and Alex Kartsonis/Chad Woodham claimed victories.
SIUE (5-9, 1-0 OVC) grabbed its season’s first conference win, last Sunday, against EIU, 4-3. The Cougars sit at .500 (34-34) in doubles matches, while Tristan Houle leads the singles lineup at No. 1 with a 7-15 record.
The Panthers (2-9, 0-1 OVC) loss to SIUE was their sixth-straight loss in 2016. Robert Skolik and Ryan Henderson are the frontrunners for EIU, with a combined 12 singles wins between them.
