Hopkinsville, KY – United Southern Bank is honored to announce the appointment of William “Billy” Bingham as the bank’s new President and CEO. Bingham brings a wealth of banking knowledge, a distinguished professional resume and his deep-seated commitment to service to United Southern Bank and its customers.
A finance major, Billy earned his degree from Western Kentucky University and subsequently graduated from both the KMBI Bank Management School and the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin.Billy’s roots, both professional and personal, run deep in our region and community making him a perfect fit to understand and serve USB’s customers’ needs. Born and raised on a farm, Billy augmented his formal education with his first banking job here at United Southern Bank in 1987, continuing at Farm Credit Services, Auburn Banking Company and most recently as President & CEO at Lewisburg Banking Company.
Billy’s diverse civic involvement includes: current member and past president of the Russellville Rotary Club, past president and director of the Logan Economic Alliance for Development, 3-year board member of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce and the current president of the Bluegrass Community Bankers Association.
Billy and his wife, Melodie, attend Crossroads Church where they are founding members. The couple has two children, Will and Blayke.
According to Billy, in addition to helping local business grow and become stronger, he is most passionate about helping those in the community achieve personal milestones like
a young couple buying their first home or a young person being able to purchase his or her first car.
