TDOT announces section of I-24 East to Close this Weekend in Davidson County

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will temporarily close a section of Interstate 24 East between State Route 155 (Briley Parkway) and Interstate 65 in Davidson County.

The work is scheduled for Friday, February 19th, 9:00pm through Sunday, February 21st at 12:00pm.

During the closure, all eastbound traffic will be detoured at Exit 18B (SR 155/Briley Parkway) and redirected to I-65 on the north side of the I-24 junction. The detour will be signed. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and seek alternate routes.

The scheduled closure is weather dependent.  Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent work from occurring as scheduled, it will be rescheduled.

The work is part of the widening project that will expand I-65 from six to ten lanes from Trinity Lane to Dickerson Pike. Crews will be removing and restriping lane markings.

All drivers are reminded the speed limit in the work zone is 45 mph.

The $50 million project is expected to be finished in May 2016.
