Clarksville, TN – Senior guard Tiasha Gray, of the Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Gray led all scorers with 21 points and added 10 assists and five boards to lead Austin Peay to a 94-66 win in its Ohio Valley Conference opener against Eastern Kentucky.
Facing a box-and-one defensive look from the Colonels in the opening quarter, Gray looked to her teammates first en route to her eighth career double-double; Gray attempted just one shot in the opening frame and was an efficient 6-for-11 on the evening.
The Clarksville native has continued her dominance of the past few seasons, leading Austin Peay in scoring (17.9 ppg), assists (5.0 apg), steals (2.2 spg) and ranking fourth among Govs in rebounding (4.1 rpg)The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Senior Khalil Davis, of the men’s basketball team, led the Governors in scoring against Texas A&M Corpus Christi (21 points) and Eastern Kentucky (16), averaging 18.0 points on 47.6 percent (20-of-52) shooting from the floor. He also led the Governors in steals against the Islanders (career-high tying four) and Westminster (three). He’s now scored in double figures in five straight games, most in his Austin Peay career.
