Nashville, TN – Despite rain interfering play at the Lipscomb Invitational, Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team was able to post results against local Ohio Valley Conference foe, Belmont, on Saturday.

From the No. 1 position, Lidia knocked off Lindsey Whitehead, 6-2, 6-0, while Claudia defeated Laura Von Eeckhoud, 6-2, 6-0.
Junior Isabela Jovanovic followed as the No. 3, earning a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Suzanne Stapler to build momentum.
At No. 4, sophomore Brittney Covington fell to Abbie Mather, 6-2, 6-2.
For the first time this fall, APSU mixed up its doubles pairings. Claudia and Lidia teamed together, but were defeated by Whitehead and Von Eeckhoud, 6-4. Meanwhile, Covington and Jovanovic fell to Gray and Stapler, 6-3.
The Lady Govs will be out of action until October 15th, which is the start of the ITA Ohio Valley Regional in West Lafayette, Indiana.
