Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Department of Finance and Revenue continues to receive questions from business owners about their gross receipts taxes.
For businesses with more than $10,000 in gross receipts, the deadline for filing directly with the State was April 15th.
“This is the first year that businesses are required to file directly with the State and there has been some confusion,” explained Laurie Matta, Chief Financial Officer for the City. “In previous years, the tax was collected by the City and notices were sent. It’s my understanding that the State did not send notices which left some business owners with questions.”If you have not filed, please do so at your earliest convenience to avoid further penalty and interest.
