Guthrie, KY – The Guthrie Tourism Commission is announcing that it will join Trenton, Hopkinsville and cities stretching all the way to the Indiana state line in a massive yard sale this weekend, June 27th-28th.
Billed as the Highway 41 Yard Sale, the organized event extends the length of U.S. Highway 41 in Kentucky, from Henderson in the north to Guthrie in the south, nearly 100 miles in length. In addition, it includes approximately 50 miles of Hwy. 41A in Henderson, Webster and Hopkins counties.
“Folks will be able to find antiques, collectibles, bargains and more,” said the tourism commission’s Marilyn Frogue. “We are hoping the two-day event will draw a large number of visitors seeking treasures to Guthrie and Todd County.”Trenton’s annual Main Street Festival is being held this year in conjunction with the Highway 41 Yard Sale, on Saturday.
“Similar events, such as the annual 400 Mile Yard Sale along the 68-80 highway corridor across Kentucky, brings hundreds if not thousands of visitors through towns along the advertised routes. Restaurants, gift shops, and other retail establishments benefit from the additional traffic generated by traveling yard sale enthusiasts”, Frogue said.
Local residents and businesses positioned along U.S. 41 are encouraged to participate. Others in Guthrie and Trenton communities needing assistance with finding booth space locations can contact their respective City Hall for information and instructions.
Shoppers and bargain hunters can find more information, including a route map, on the Internet at www.Highway41YardSale.com or on FaceBook.
