Tulsa, OK – A pair of Austin Peay State University men’s tennis players saw their time at the ITA All-American Championships come to an end, Saturday, with losses in the Pre-Qualifying Round at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Senior Jasmin Ademovic fell to LSU sophomore Andrew Korinek. The Bosnian-bred Ademovic rallied back from a 6-2 first set loss to take the second set, 6-1. However, the deciding third set went to Korinek, 6-2 and knocked the Govs No. 1 out of the tournament. The loss was Ademovic’s first during the Govs fall season.Meanwhile, Junior Dimitar Ristovski dropped a straight-set affair to Fresno State’s Adriaan Du Toit, 6-2, 6-3. It’s the first fall tournament of Ristovski’s Austin Peay career that he has not advanced past the first round of play.
Junior Aleksas Tverijonas will play in the second pre-qualifying round Sunday against South Florida’s Everth Dzib, who defeated Oral Roberts’ Braxton Bates, 6-3, 6-1, to advance. Their match is scheduled for 12:30pm, Sunday.
