Clarksville, TN – Miss Tennessee USA 2013, Brenna Mader, 26, has made her way to Las Vegas to take her chance at becoming the newly crowned Miss USA.
The 62nd annual Miss USA pageant will be held Sunday, June 16th at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino and can be seen telecast live on NBC at 9:00pm/8:00pm central.
Mader is a graduate of Nashville’s Belmont University with a degree is Broadcast Journalism. She is an aspiring television host who is currently the face of Superfan weekends on GAC (Great American Country), the host of “Joy in Our Town” on TBN, and a social media correspondent for Tom Arnold’s “My Big Fat Redneck Vacation After show.”
Many people may also recognize her from Blake Shelton’s 2011 male music video of the year, “Who Are You When I’m Not Looking”. Along with Shelton’s video, she can been seen in videos for Lady Antebellum, Josh Turner and Katie Armiger.
According to her biography, Mader is an avid traveler, having visited 43 states and eight countries. She feels that the time she has spent traveling has made her responsible, independent and able to talk and relate to anyone from any background. Having a grandmother and a great grandmother who are both breast cancer survivors, Brenna is excited to work more with the Miss Universe Organization to spread awareness about the disease.
“Brenna is an excellent example of the kind of young woman that we strive to have represent the Miss Tennessee USA organization,” said Pageant Director, Kim Greenwood. “She embodies poise, grace, class and beauty, and I feel that those qualities will take her far in the Miss USA pageant.”
Upon arrival to Las Vegas, each of the 51 ladies, with representatives from all states and the District of Columbia, who are competing for the crown, will be a part of a series of rigorous rehearsals, interviews and fittings.
The top 10 will be seen as part of the live show on NBC with each lady competing in swim wear and formal wear. The top five will complete a short question and answer segment. For the 14th year, Clarksville will host the 2014 Miss Tennessee USA and Miss Tennessee Teen USA Pageants at the Austin Peay State University Music and Mass Communications Building Concert Hall on October 4th-5th, 2013. Tickets will go on sale in September.
Qualified applicants must be a resident of Tennessee, a single female (never married and never had a child) and a U.S. citizen. Those wishing to apply must be between 18 and 27-years-old for Miss Tennessee USA or 14 and 19-years-old for the Teen pageant as of February 1st, 2014.
