Northwest Little League hosted the 2012 Senior (15-16) State Tournament
Clarksville, TN – The Northwest Senior(15-16) boys baseball team won the Tennessee State Baseball Championship by going 3-0 at Stokes field last week.
They defeated Smith County 6- 2 on Sunday, July 22nd behind the strong pitching from winning pitcher Adam Caver, Jose Poindexter, Dakota Doron, and Tyler Boles,(who recorded the save). They gave up only 3 hits while striking out 14.
Northwest was able to take advantage of 5 Smith County errors to advance in the winners bracket.

On Thursday, July 26th, Northwest had to play Greenville for the championship. After a scoreless 1st inning, Northwest broke the ice with a run in the top of the 2nd inning. In the top of the 3rd inning, Northwest had 9 batters come to the plate to score 5 runs and break open a close game. Northwest would score 4 more runs in the 4th and 2 more in the 5th to claim their 2nd consecutive Senior League State Championship, 12-0. Adam Caver pitched 4 innings of one hit, shutout ball and Tyler Boles pitched the 5th to complete the shutout.
Team members are Tyler Boles, Jose Poindexter, Mike Wulf, Jahnal Browne, Isaac Masters, Sam Masters, Travis Swails, Dakota Doron, Adam Caver, Kevin Kane, Chad Chisolm, Ty Rather, Shawn Howard, Jordan Grier, and Blake Kiely. Head coach is Donny Caver. Assistant Coaches are Tony Boles, Jose Poindexter, Johnny Masters, and Ken Caver.
Northwest now advances to the Southeast Regionals in Viera-Suntree, Florida on Friday, August 3rd to play South Carolina at 10:30am et. On Saturday, August 4th they will play Virginia at 2:30pm et. They finish pool play on Sunday, August 5th playing West Virginia at 9:30am et.
The Semi-finals and finals will be on Monday and Tuesday with the champion advancing to the Senior League World Series in Bangor, Maine August 12th-18th.
