Germantown, TN – Although Austin Peay State University women’s golf team showed improvement over the final two rounds, it was not enough to move out of 12th place in the Memphis Fall Invitational, played at the Ridgeway Country Club.

Samford and Memphis tied for first in the tourney, each shooting 913.
Holly Batey led the Lady Govs, shooting a three-round 247 (84-769-84) to finish in a tie for 50th. Batey had the Lady Govs’ only sub-80 tourney round. Behind her was Ashley Averitt (85-81-86=252), followed by Lauren Bond (89-84-82=255) and Tabitha Beard (89-82-84=255).
The Lady Govs’ No. 1 player, Rachel Deaton, who was forced to withdraw with feet issues from Monday’s second round, again was unable to play Tuesday. In fact, she will not return for the Lady Govs’ final tourney, the UAB Fall Beach Blast, next Monday and Tuesday.
Sophomore Tala Mumford, playing as an individual, also shot a (87-81-87=255).
