Clarksville, TN. – August 1st, 2011 – The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce announces upcoming events during the month of August.
On Tuesday, August 2nd, the Chamber will be hosting a Women In Business event at 11:30am at the Hilton Garden Inn, 290 Alfred Thun Road. Tresa Halbrooks will serve as the Keynote Speaker. Her personal story will touch and inspire you; her humor will undoubtedly make you laugh and you will enjoy hearing about her journey through a male dominated industry.
Tresa Halbrooks has served as the Titans’ Manager of Community Relations for 10 years and assists Titans players with their efforts and image off-the-field and in the community. She was recently named one of Nashville Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 Executives in 2011.
The Chamber’s Business After Hours will be held on Thursday, August 18th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The event will be hosted by the APSU Governor’s Club at the Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill, 751 North Second Street. Join us for food, networking and fun. This event is offered at no cost.
On Thursday, August 25th, at 11:30am the Clarksville Young Professionals will be hosting a special luncheon at the Hilton Garden Inn, 290 Alfred Thun Road, featuring WSMV Channel 4’s Rudy Kalis. If you missed him at the Power Breakfast in June, the Chamber encourages you to attend and hear Rudy’s inspiring message. From his humble beginnings as a 5-year-old German immigrant, Emmy award winner Rudy Kalis has garnered a long and exciting career as one of the nation’s premiere sports newscasters.
Rudy has crossed paths with some of the greatest names in sports history such as Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Jack Nicklaus, Wayne Gretzky, Wilma Rudolph, and Darrell Waltrip. After serving four years in the US Air Force, Rudy obtained his degree in Mass Communications and has worked all over the country, eventually settling in Nashville at WSMV Channel 4. There he has won 15 Associated Press awards for the outstanding sportscast in the state of Tennessee and he has been voted the best sportscaster in Nashville 13 times by the readers of the Nashville Scene newspaper. A true sports icon and legend, his story will relay what can be achieved through hard work, discipline and believing in yourself.
