Golden Pond, KY – A popular attraction is coming back to Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area. Laser Light Music Shows will be featured at the Golden Pond Planetarium beginning May 27th, 2011.
Daily at 11:00am, visitors will be able to experience Greek mythology during a vibrant laser light show. LBL Planetarium manager Don Partain said, “Legends of the Night Sky is a great way to provide an educational experience for the entire family.
Our entertaining characters and lively stories about Orion and Andromeda leave viewers wanting to learn more about astronomy.”
For music lovers, LBL will offer Laser Light Music Shows Tuesdays ($5.00), Fridays and Saturdays ($6.00) at 7:00pm and 8:30pm. The shows contain laser lights synchronized to popular music ranging from country to pop. Featured artists include U2, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, George Strait, The Beach Boys, Shania Twain, The Beatles, and many more.
These state-of-the art shows are the same ones seen in music videos, concerts, and other planetariums. Laser Light Music Shows will fill the 40-foot dome Planetarium and bring some of your favorite music to life.
Prior to each show, viewers will see short presentations provided by Laser Light Music Show sponsors. This will give visitors a glimpse of the many tourism opportunities in the region. Partain added, “Planetarium laser shows are a way to bridge education and entertainment by offering another exciting attraction for visitors and residents in our region. People who have never been to a planetarium may come to see a laser show and then decide to return to see one of our more traditional presentations.”
Admission for daytime shows: $4.00 ages 13 and up, $2.00 ages 5-12, and free ages 4 and under. Group discounts are available. Seating is limited and doors open 30 minutes before show times, so don’t be late! Reservations may be made for the Saturday evening shows only by calling 270-924-2154.
