The child’s mother, Stephanie McKinnon returned to the vehicle about seven minutes after Officer Knight arrived on scene. McKinnon conveyed to Officer Knight that she thought it would be okay to leave the child alone since she was going to be gone for a few minutes to get some medication. But, McKinnon had several items in her possession which were purchased in the store.

The store video was checked and it was determined that McKinnon entered the store around 3:38pm and arrived at the vehicle around 3:54pm.

The child was checked by EMS and released to the father.
