Clarksville, TN – On April 10th, 2011, around 11:00am, a woman flagged officers down in a business parking lot at 1628 Fort Campbell Blvd (Dollar Tree) in reference to three young children being left alone in a vehicle.
When officers arrived they found three children, 8 months (male), 2 (male) and 3 years old (female), sweating inside of a locked vehicle, which was not running, windows up, and parked in direct sunlight. Shortly after officers arrived (about 4 minutes) the mother of the children inside of the vehicle, Yolanda Timmons, returned.
The outside temperature was 73 degrees and 75% humidity when the children were left in the vehicle. The temperature inside the vehicle was found to be approximately 112 degrees.
The children were turned over to a friend.
