Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University quarterback Trent Caffee continues to show improvement but remains in St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville after suffering a neck injury during the second quarter of Saturday’s loss to Murray State.
The senior quarterback was injured while attempting to scramble for a first down against Murray State. On the play, his helmet was ripped off by a would-be tackler and helmet-less Caffee then had his head slammed into the shoulder pads of a defender before being taken to the turf where his head made contact with the artificial surface.
Austin Peay hopes to have more information when it becomes available.
