Flood Relief Concert a success

Weekend concert at Beachaven Winery raises donations to benefit Clarksville flood victims.

Music, wine and philanthropy came together last Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Flood Relief Benefit Concert held at Beachaven Winery, hosted by the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce. By the end of the evening, over $11,500 in donations had been raised to help aid local area businesses and individuals who suffered losses during the flood.

While enjoying their glasses of Beachaven wine, steak sandwiches and, of course, Italian ice from Repicci Italian Ice, concert goers were treated to the musical prowess of singers such as Cindy McElroy, Kristie Sibley, Bobby Keel, and further rocked out to Storm, Syd Hendrick & the Blues News, and ending the evening with the Tina Brown Band. Kids and adults alike were on their feet dancing to the infectious rhythms throughout the night, taking in the fresh summer air and perfect weather.

The concert was made possible by the generous vendors and sponsors who turned out to support the cause. Special thanks to Beachaven Winery, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, the Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Copies in a Flash, Cumberland Bank & Trust, downtown Kiwanis, the Leaf Chronicle, Prudential Professional Realty, Repicci Italian Ice, and Active Screen Graphics, and others for their support.

For those that missed the concert and still would like to contribute to donation efforts, checks are still being accepted by ASPIRE Flood Relief. Checks made out to “ASPIRE Flood Relief” and mailed to, or dropped off at:
