Hands On training in Volunteer Management

Hands on Nashville and the Center for Non Profit Management have joined together to provide training for volunteer coordinators in Clarksville. The initial training to be offered is a two part Volunteer Management series. The course is normally $95.00 for Members, and $195.00 for Non-Members, and it is being offered in Clarksville for just $15.00 per person! These courses are available to anyone in the community, so volunteers and businesses that are operating volunteer programs should consider attending.

Volunteer Management Courses

Part I: One credit toward Certificate in Volunteer Managment.

Date: March 30, 2010
Time: 9:30 -3:00 pm.
Location: Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library Large meeting room

Part II: One credit toward Certificate in Volunteer Management

Date:April 27
Time: 9:30 am.- 3:00 pm.
Location:Customs House Museum

Description:

Are you feeling overwhelmed witht he day to day operational aspects of running a volunteer program? Do you feel as if you need a degree in psychology? Running successful volunteer program requires implementing smart management systems and procedures as well as having a grasp for personnel managaement. This two-part session will look at volunteer management components that contribut to runing a well-rounded program. Topics covered will include: designing volunteer positions; staff/volunteer relations;program infrastructure;recruitment;interviewing and screening;orientation and placement, retnetion and recognition. These sessions are very intereactive and participatns are encouraged to bring up for discussion the issues that challenge you most.

Other training options are being considerered

Hands on Clarksville knows that many of you have asked for Grant Development and Proposal Writing training,  and they hope to offer that in the very near future. Please see the attached “Training Needs” survey, If you are interested, please fill it out and return it by February 26, 2010 so that we can begin to develop the training program.
