For a bone-chilling good time, join Austin Peay State University for Homecoming 2009 with the theme, “Fear the Peay,” from Oct. 25-31. Homecoming 2009 includes events for all ages, and most of them open to the public. A full schedule of events is available below the fold. The Austin Peay State University National Alumni Association will also be sponsoring a couple of sports events during Homecoming 2009 that will be open to full public participation:
- The 31st Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament will be at 8 a.m., Friday, Oct. 31 at Swan Lake Golf Course. Cost is $60 per person, and advance registration is required. Fee includes ditty bag, refreshments on the golf course and light lunch. The event, sponsored by Budweiser of Clarksville, is co-chaired by alumni Nelson Boehms (’86) and Frazier Allen (’99).
- The Homecoming Scholarship 5K Run will begin at 8 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 31 on the front lawn of the Clement Building on College Street. Registration is $20 in advance, $25 day of race. Advance registration is preferred. The fee includes T-shirt and refreshments. Prizes and cash awards will be announced. Co-chairs are alumni Mike (’78) and Lisa (’81) Kelley, along with Gloria Henshaw (’82), Amelia Wallace (’66), Bill Harpel (’74), Lori O’Shoney (’87), Sandra Fladry, Anna Murray (’83), Jimmy Clark (’07) and Doug Molnar.
