Clarksville’s Concert Series Runs May – October; Revitalizes City’s Downtown
(Nashville, TN) – Americana/Bluegrass singer/songwriter and master guitarist Bryan Clark will kick off Clarksville’s 2009 Jammin’ In The Alley Concert Series on Friday, May 15 from 6 – 9 p.m. in front of City Hall (at Strawberry Alley and First Street). Joining Clark for the show are renowned musicians Chas Williams (dobro); Clarksville’s own Jeremy Holt (mandolin), and Dan Eubanks (bass). Admission is free, and the concert is “family friendly.”
Clark’s current double-disc CD set, GOSSIP, INSPIRATION and SLANDER (Rainfeather Records), is generating spins at Bluegrass, Americana and Country radio stations across the U.S., and fans can purchase the package at iTunes and CDBaby. Bryan is a genre-bending artist who has intrigued the media as well, and current features can be found in Country Weekly, Vintage Guitar, Flatpicking Guitar and more.
For Clark, “it’s all about playing great music and making people happy” – and he’s been doing both for years. As an artist, he’s released five solo recordings, performed with Bonnie Raitt, Lisa Loeb, Bird York; jazz greats Larry Carlton and Scott Henderson, and garnered songwriting accolades from the International Billboard and John Lennon Songwriting contests. Now based in Nashville, Bryan is an in-demand session player and adjunct faculty member at Belmont University School of Music where he teaches jazz harmony, composition, History of American Song and arranging. His film and TV credits include “America’s Next Top Model,” “Project Runway,” and placements on VH1, FOX, ESPN and Oxygen networks among others.
Clarksville’s Jammin’ In The Alley Series was created to breathe new life into the city’s downtown area. The Series brings live music on the third Friday of each month from May through October. Music fans can get more information on Jammin’ by calling 931-645-7444.
