City of Clarksville closes Liberty Park, Boat Ramps due to High Water

Liberty Park Grill to remain open

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Rising waters on the Cumberland River and its tributaries have closed several City of Clarksville parks and boat ramps.

Liberty Park will remain closed Tuesday, April 26th, 2017 because water over roads is blocking access to much of the park, including Freedom Point, Clarksville Marina and the park’s boat ramps.

However, Liberty Park Grill is accessible and will open as usual.

Boat ramps in McGregor Park and at Trice Landing are under water and closed Tuesday.

Clarksville Police and Clarksville Parks and Recreation staff members are monitoring the flooding, and the facilities will reopen as soon as the water recedes to a safe level.

The National Weather Service is predicting drying conditions Tuesday, but showers and storms are forecast for late Wednesday into Thursday. Isolated strong storms are possible Friday afternoon and evening. The weekend is expected to be rainy, with storms and showers likely on Saturday and Sunday.
